I am so glad you are curious about how the experience here at Katelyn Scott works. I know this experience tends to be new for a whole lot of people, which leads to all the questions. How do I book a session with Katelyn Scott?
Booking a session with me is really simple. Visit the book now page to secure your date. Select the type of boudoir shoot you want, select your date and then pay the corresponding session fee. The two sessions differ in experience so make sure you decide on the one that best fits your needs! You can see all those details here! If you have questions that are not addressed on this page, all you need to do is fill out the contact form and I will be back in touch.
What should I expect during the studio experience?
When you come and shoot with me I want it to be all about the experience! For me, it’s all about pampering you and making the entire day feel like it’s YOUR day. The time spent in studio should allow you to focus on yourself. You will leave feeling so powerful and accomplished and I look forward to that moment every single shoot. This experience is customized to you and no two shoots look the same.
I have two session types to fit everyone’s needs and budget. If you are someone who is looking for a simpler session, the Basic Session is your best option. It allows you to bring your own wardrobe, a shorter session time and the possibility to 100% customize your experience and product collection. This is considered my A La Carte option for the sessions!
If you are looking to feel totally pampered and make it a full VIP day, the Deluxe Session is for you. This is an untimed session with full glam (or product credit if glam isn’t for you), access to a size inclusive wardrobe accommodating sizes XS-6X for up to three of your four looks during your session, a free deluxe set upgrade and so much more.
Expect to laugh a lot!! Also expect to roll around, arch your back, point your toes, play with your hair and spend a lot of time gazing down your gorgeous body. No one expects you to be a model or even have the slightest idea what to do in front of a lens. This is normal and that’s why I am here. I will coach you through each pose and cheer you on throughout the entire shoot. This is sometimes an intimidating experience and I don’t want you to think you need to come into my space knowing how to “look sexy”. In fact, it’s all the little moments in between poses that you look the sexiest. We also accommodate all abilities so don’t feel like this is something you can’t do. Being sexy is a luxury that is available to all bodies no matter what!
Lastly, if you are a little nervous and want to talk through collections, styling or wardrobe, we can hop on a phone consult prior to your shoot. This day is all about you and I want you to know just how worthy you are of the love you will feel prior to, during and post shoot!
Is hair and makeup included?
At Katelyn Scott we are all about celebrating YOU! What does that mean? It means that you are not required to do hair and makeup for your session. You are perfect just the way you are, and if that means celebrating your natural looks, then let’s freakin do it! If you want full glam you have two options.
Option one is to opt in for the Deluxe Session when you book! Not only does it include glam, but this session is the ultimate VIP experience. The best part is the stylist comes on site for glam! If you want the VIP experience but not glam that’s ok too! You can opt in for the product credit to be applied towards your collection of choice instead. No one should ever feel forced into glam….ever.
Option two is to book the Basic Session and opt in for hair and makeup. I will book one of my incredible artists to come on site for the day of!
Know that you are just as worthy with your hair and makeup done as you are without. Boudoir shouldn’t be a fantasy that is only attainable when you have a full face of makeup on. The important thing I want you to know is that whatever you want out of this experience, you get. All natural or full done, you are so freakin worthy of standing in your power and feeling seen!
What about the wardrobe?
Let’s talk about wardrobe!! So if you book the Deluxe Session, clients have access to my extensive client closet for up to 3 of their 4 looks. I do require my clients to bring at least one look they know they love. It does not have to be lingerie by any means and to be honest, I don’t care what it is, just as long as it makes you happy. I do this because lingerie and intimates are a little hard to fit. I like my clients to come in with the confidence that they have one look they love and then can layer in pieces from the wardrobe.
The client closet runs from XS-6X and includes everything from bras and panties, to bodysuits, corsets, garters, separates, kink items, restraints and fancy robes. The wardrobe leans heavy into the lingerie world, with limited access to gender fluid items and pieces that are built for humans with male genitalia. Please make sure to set up a call prior to your shoot if there is a specific look you are going for. This is an empowered space for all bodies and I want to make sure you come in with the confidence of knowing you can stand in your power and be seen for who you are!
Lastly there are no rules here for what you can or cannot bring. If you are a person who wants to shoot with props, that’s dope. Bring them. We will do our best to layer them in. If you don’t want to rock lingerie and want to shoot in something more specific to your desire, DOPE. This is an empowerment session and will lean towards boudoir, so please make sure you are bringing looks that fall under that category. I am no longer a family or headshot photographer, so as long as it falls into an empowerment/intimate portrait perspective, I am game! I am all about catering this session to you and allowing you to stand in your power, wearing whatever the fuck you want. That’s what this experience is about.
I can’t make it to your studio in Raleigh, do you travel?
YES!!! I absolutely travel to my clients and love shooting in new and unique spaces. Adventure sessions start at $1599 and include a limited number of digitals. My travel cost and lodging is separate but can be negotiated with 3 or more booked sessions at any specific location! Meaning if you have a few friends that all want to book, the travel fee is heavily discounted per person!

Do you shoot in other people’s home?
I sure do! This would qualify as an adventure session and the details for that can be seen in the bullet point above! These are custom experiences and have to be booked directly with Katelyn. Email katelyn@katelynscott.com to plan and book your experience.
Do you air brush and photoshop my images?
Bodies are perfectly imperfect and that’s a hard and fast rule in my studio. Each photo is edited individually to the style you have come to see through my website and social media, but I will never body alter an image in post processing (aka photoshop out chins, bellies, stretch marks, etc.). We tailor each session to accommodate any and all of your concerns and we celebrate all that is you. This one is non-negotiable so if you feel the need to be airbrushed, I have several other amazing photogs I can refer you to. Love the skin your in…..it’s pretty damn gorgeous from here.
What is an in-person reveal?
After your session we schedule a reveal 6-10 days post shoot. I do this for a lot of reasons but the main one…. it can be hard to look at a body that you have spent the majority of your life hating. These images are incredibly powerful and I think it’s important to allow this time to celebrate the images we captured. At this reveal we will watch a slideshow of your images then go through each one to select you most favorite. We will fill your collection of choice with all the images you love and if you are like most clients, you will want to upgrade your collection because you love the way you look so much! You are a work of art and I love helping clients build a curated collection that they will cherish forever!
Eek….I didn’t get to wax, buff, shave or tan….now what?
To be honest, I think your body is perfect just the way it is. That means if you like to be hairy, let that be celebrated. If you want to get a Brazilian do that….but don’t do anything because you feel like you have to or it’s expected. Whatever makes you feel sexy is what you should do, but don’t take this time to try out new things. You get a welcome guide when you book and it gives you all the details about what you should and shouldn’t do. Just remember this session is to lean into the gorgeous human that you are now, not some fantasy of what you think society expects.
Do I have to get all the way naked?
Y’all, if you want to get nakie let’s do it!! If you are more modest and want to stay in your clothes the entire time that is absolutely awesome as well. I meet you where you are comfortable and push you no further. There are legit no expectations from me as to what best suites you. We are here to celebrate you and customize your session to exactly what you want and that means what you wear or don’t.
Are you going to share my pictures on social media?
Helllllll no. YOUR PRIVACY IS OF THE UTMOST IMPORTANCE!!!! The images that I share on my social media are images that people have given me permission to share. If you would like me to share your images, I would be more than honored to do so, but I will never pressure you to do so. You can chose to share your whole gallery, one image, only anonymous images or no images at all. Nothing is expected here and I will meet you where you are comfortable.
Do you offer payment plans?
Heck yes we offer payment plans here! I know boudoir is an investment so this is a great option for all you amazing humans on a budget! Payment plans can be done in a pre-session or post-session fashion. Up front, the $299 retainer is paid to hold your date and secure your shoot. This covers the time in studio, access to the wardrobe and your reveal appointment. Once we have agreed on the collection you are looking for, we can customize the ideal payment plan to best fit your needs. All of your products will be delivered after your total balance is paid off. Payment plans include:
Pre Session Payment Plan
If you know prior to your shoot what collection you want, you can pre-pay into a booty bank. All the money paid in prior to your shoot will be applied to your collection of choice at your reveal appointment. This allows you to walk out of your reveal with your product in hand. You get to select the collection of your choice and payments can be made from the day you book until the week of your session! There is no limit on the number of months for this payment plan, that is determined by the time between the day you book and the day you shoot. You will make a deposit, sign a contract and be provided with a link where you can pay as you go until your session date. This is our most flexible option for payments and includes some pretty epic perks!
PAYPAL CREDIT
This is the #1 option for the majority of my clients who need a payment plan at their reveal and didn’t opt in to a prepayment plan. When you pay through PayPal credit, they pay me now and you pay them back over time. When you use this option, you get your products right away! You must be approved for this, so do some research before your reveal if this is the route you want to go!
Post session Payment Plans
If you are a person that wants to wait until your reveal to see your images before you select your collection, that is totally okay too! We have 3 and 6 month payment plans available for individuals who would prefer to wait. Your product collection will be delivered when your payment plan is paid in full.
PAY IN FULL
Want to wait and see the images on the day of your reveal? That’s ok too. Payment in full can be made at your reveal appointment after your shoot!
How long until I get my products?
Once the products for your luxury collection have been selected and paid in full (if you upgraded your collection at the reveal appointment) expect a turn around time of 7-14 business days for all printed products. Digital collections will be delivered within 24 hours of your reveal or payment in full if the collection was upgraded.
Uh-oh, something came up and I have to reschedule, now what?
I know life happens and things come up. For this reason I allow one reschedule within the same calendar year for a reschedule fee of $299. Sessions must be rescheduled at least one week prior to your shoot and the $299 must be paid to secure a future date. All pre-payments into the collection will be applied to a future shoot. All payments are non-refundable. If you need to reschedule more than once, a new retainer will need to be purchased to select a date in the future. If you have opted in for hair and makeup, the artist must be given a weeks notice in order to reschedule. If sessions are rescheduled less than a week out, the $185 must be paid to the contractor.
